Proverbs
A collection of practical wisdom and sayings for daily life
Solomon wrote and gathered many of the proverbs in this book, drawing from his own experience and sayings floating from earlier ages. Later, the men of Hezekiah, king of Judah, collected more of Solomon's sayings. The book also includes final sections written by Agur and King Lemuel. Set during the times of these kings, the book brought together practical wisdom, common sense, and daily human experience into poetic form. It highlights the lasting value of prudence, intelligence, and careful observation of human character.
